The Super Mario Galaxy Movie Trailer Arrives, Revealing Rosalina and Bowser Jr. Actors
Nintendo alongside Illumination shared the debut comprehensive teaser for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie this Wednesday. It was showcased in a Nintendo-focused broadcast that focused exclusively on the forthcoming animated feature.
The follow-up to the 2023 hit film The Super Mario Bros. Movie, this fresh entry will send Mario to the far corners of the universe. Along the way, he discovers a different royal figure and a formidable new rival in Bowser Jr., the heir to Bowser's throne.
A Cosmic Adventure Drawing from Iconic Releases
Similar to the Wii-era games that provide its foundation, Mario will depart from the well-known surroundings of the Mushroom Kingdom to explore outer space. Throughout his extensive trek, he will encounter once more some recognizable characters, for instance the Luma, a breakout star from the previous film.
Yet it looks like Mario and his brother Luigi will face a fresh enemy in the form of Bowser's angry little boy, who reportedly utilizes powers related to metal. Worth mentioning, the trailer for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is not only concentrated on Galaxy-inspired imagery; it also features references to further iconic releases like Super Mario Odyssey and Bowser's Fury.
Star-Studded Voice Cast Returns and Expands
The movie will see the return of the initial voice actors, featuring Chris Pratt as Mario, Anya Taylor-Joy as Peach, Charlie Day as Luigi, Jack Black as Bowser, Keegan-Michael Key as Toad, and Kevin Michael Richardson as Kamek.
Joining the cast for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie are Brie Larson, who will voice Rosalina, and Benny Safdie, set to play Bowser Jr. It was announced by the CEO of Illumination, Chris Meledandri.
A Big Year for Mario
The new Mario movie is scheduled to arrive near the 40-year celebration of the initial Super Mario Bros. release. Beyond the film, 2026 is shaping up to be a major period for Mario and his friends.
Nintendo has a set of three fresh titles already confirmed for 2026, such as Mario Tennis Fever, a Switch 2 edition of Super Mario Bros. Wonder, and a fresh Yoshi side-scroller titled Yoshi and the Mysterious Book.
Launch Date Set
The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is officially set to be released on April 3, 2026.
